
Swine influenza, in scintific language we can call it H1N1 flu. swine flu is an infection by any one of several types of swine influenza virus. Swine influenza virus is any strain of the influenza family of viruses that is endemic in pigs.
Transmission of the virus from pigs to humans is not common and does not always lead to human influenza. People with regular exposure to pigs are at increased risk of swine flu. Initially it outbreaks in Mexico on June 11 2009, neighboring country of USA.
In less than ninety days the novel Influenza 2009 A/H1N1 virus rapidly spread over 66 countries in the world and led to over 233,927 confirmed cases including 2,229 deaths.
In India 11,724 persons have been tested so far out of which 2,242 are positive for swine flu. Out of 2242 positive cases, 758 have been discharged. Metro cities are at the top of the chart where Mumbai and Pune is leading with 48 and 36 cases. Chennai has detected 30 and Delhi has reported 25 cases, right now officials have reported 28 deaths throughout the country. Rida shaikh was the first victim of swine flu in India. Who died in Pune.
Symptoms of swine flu in people are expected to be similar to the symptoms of regular human seasonal influenza and include fever, lethargy, Lack of Appetite, Cough, Running Nose, Sore Throat, Nausea, Headaches. Washing hands routinely with soap and warm water,we can protect ourselves by Covering nose and mouth when cough or sneeze and Avoiding close contact with sick people.
There is also a special type of mask in the market to avoid the communication with swine flu. The horror of swine flu is still knocking at the doors so we should take care of ourselves as well as we need to spread positive information among the masses.
